James B. Mills is a 2015 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. He received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006 and a Master of Science in Chemistry in 2012. James is able to use his background in chemistry, biotech, and pharma with his legal experience to quickly understand the scientific, business, and legal nuances of even the most complex matters. Clients value the technical knowledge, analytic abilities, and strong communication skills he applies in handling their cases.
Prior to joining Stamos & Trucco LLP, James worked at Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila representing and counseling various Fortune 500 companies with a broad range of legal issues including: toxic tort litigation; PFAS counseling; pharmaceutical and medical supplement litigation; environmental contamination litigation; and various other product and premises liability issues. James has also worked at other Chicagoland firms defending physicians and medical institutions against professional liability claims and federal and state discrimination claims in Illinois, Wisconsin, and California.
James joined Stamos & Trucco LLP in April 2024. His practice concentrates on toxic tort, products and premises liability, and professional liability defense. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District Court of Illinois, Central District Court of Illinois, and Southern District Court of Illinois.
