Brian E. Martin is a 1982 graduate of the DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, Mr. Martin served as an Editor of Notes and Comments of Volume 31 of the DePaul Law Review. Upon graduation from DePaul in May, 1982, Mr. Martin served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable James B. Parsons of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Martin joined the law firm of Boodell, Sears, Giambalvo & Crowley in April 1984 which firm merged into Bell, Boyd & Lloyd in 1987. Mr. Martin was an associate in the litigation group until 1990 when he was named an equity partner. Bell, Boyd & Lloyd merged into K&L Gates in 2009 and Mr. Martin became an equity partner at that firm. While at these firms, Mr. Martin practiced general civil litigation in the state and federal courts and before administrative bodies. Mr. Martin joined Stamos & Trucco LLP in 2012 as a partner.
Mr. Martin is a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. His trial experience includes jury and bench trials in state and federal courts and contested matters before arbitration panels and administrative bodies. He has argued many appeals in the state and federal courts. Mr. Martin has lectured and written on various topics including testifying before the Illinois Senate on eminent domain law following Kelo v. New London. His current practice is primarily in commercial, financial, real estate and employment litigation.
