Mr. Trucco’s practice focuses on the defense of various types of civil litigation in the state and federal courts, including the defense of attorneys, hospitals, physicians and health care providers; commercial and business litigation; the defense of toxic tort claims; and the defense of employers in employment law matters. In addition, he counsels corporations and other business entities in contractual, governance and operational issues.
Mr. Trucco is a graduate of Bradley University and DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the DePaul Law Review.
Mr. Trucco is a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. His trial experience includes more than 45 jury trials, numerous bench trials in the state and federal courts and contested matters before arbitration panels and the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Committee on Infractions. He has argued many appeals in the state and federal courts. Mr. Trucco is Past-President of the DePaul University College of Law Alumni Board and has served as Adjunct Professor in the Pretrial Litigation and Clinical Trial Advocacy at the Northwestern University School of Law. He has also served in various other leadership roles for local government, charitable organizations and other not-for-profit entities. He has lectured and written on many topics including coauthoring the chapter on expert testimony in the 2005, 2013 and 2022 IICLE Medical Malpractice Handbook. He is a past member of the Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee and the Committee on Attorney Malpractice. He is also a member of the Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute, The Society of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Trucco has been elected an Illinois “Super Lawyer” in every year since the award began in 2005.
